Our Mission

As leaders of several of the nation’s premier schools of education, we have joined forces to reassert our commitment to the highest standards of research and to announce the formation of an organization of education schools dedicated to promoting these standards throughout the education profession.

Toward this end, we have formed the Education Deans’ Alliance to advance the following objectives:

  1. Promote high quality, rigorous education research, which employs appropriate methodologies and informs policy and practice.
  2. Promote research-based preparation of researchers and practitioners.
  3. Advocate for public understanding, support and respect for education research, including funding.
  4. Provide advice to foundations and government agencies.
  5. Communicate regularly to share information about common concerns and objectives.
  6. Advance the position of our institutions as national leaders in education research and policy.
  7. Provide induction for new deans of our institutions.
